A party and a picnic!

Hope everyone had a mighty fine Valentines' Day! mine was made a time well-spent with my beloved little sister. It was, for us, a happy Tuesday :) nothing fancy, nothing special in fact!

So here's the continuation to my Euro-adventure. Still well into the first week of Europe.. great that i'm making some pretty good progress here actually, tsk!

Preparation for Tracy's birthday party! Very funny how the number of us can only know each other for less than a week but get together to whip up a mega feast for Tracy's birthday!

Lund, Sweden

GoogleTranslate - our bestest bud for a pretty long time.

Pigged out on an entire Diam cake before everyone started preparing for dinner!

Swedish Princess Cake (Prinsesstårta) i'm sure we see this in IKEA too! ;)
Sponge cake filled with layers of cream. Topped with a layer of green marzipan.

A typical breakfast that I'll have. I can have this every single day and not get sick of it. Not exaggerating on how much i love yogurt, nuts, cereals and fruits. tsk tsk this is like.. ALL PACKED INTO ONE. omnomnom I also love the fact that yogurt came in 1L cartons (what we see as milk cartons in Singapore) DAMN SHIOK! DAMN GOOD! DAMN CHEAP!
Went over to Sue's for lunch! Soup..
Rice. Expensive rice -.-

Ikan bilis - thee master that everyone bowed down to. LOL. Deprived asian kids!
Ee Lin & Shannon working hard at planning for our air tickets and accommodation at Amsterdam and Brussels! :)

Planning for a trip has got to be one of the suck-iest things to do. As much as I enjoy researching on what's there to see, eat, do in a new place, I hate hate HATE to think about accommodation and how to get there. Knowing the facts is one thing.. planning a trip to incorporate all of these research is another.
Though I try very hard to avoid this at the beginning, I ended up learning how to do it as well :) Probably not as good as how the rest does it..  but good enough, i say! *beams with pride. Now I actually enjoy it because it does not result in aimless tagging / not knowing what I've just visited/seen/ate. The importance of prior knowledge.

I love how we can see the rays so clearly!
Looks like a UFO is about to descend or something too..

this was also the day where i prepared dinner for all 7 of us; Wilfred included! The beef turned out errrr too chewy. lol we cut the beef cubes a tad too think la, difficult to estimate the doneness of the beef! not my faultttt :O hhahahah

again, another awesome breakfast whooooo~ before heading out for our picnic!!

Tracy and my bed! and mr.bean <3

my bicycle! the power eagle that crashed into walls, lamp posts and other cars .. no thanks to my brilliant cycling skills heheheh

Lundafalafel for the BEST falafel in Lund!!!

Lundafalafel
Stora Södergatan 5, 222 23 Lund, Sweden

Supermarketing! lo and behold if you're a fan of bread, dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt), pasta, cereal and all food products possibly non-asian. I LOVE THE SUPERMARKETS.
Colourful and so packed with power! i had no strong cravings for asian food anything throughout my time away from Singapore. Amazing huh!

What the Swedes have.. meals out of a tube :/ hmm. Typically ready-made spreads for crispbread, bread etc.. The spreads come in a variety of flavours ranging from ham, cheese, herring(?!), caviar and so much more..  i've tried these once. Pretty good actually! almost wanted to eat them directly off the tube but that's too much flavour, salt and fats to handle. so nej! (nej means "no" in Swedish!) it doesn't quite cut it as a substitute for meals!

Headed to the botanical gardens! :) we didn't realize though that we spent our entire day at the most unruly part of the gardens -.- love the sun and luscious greens though!!!

a part of our mess!

Owl-ling.
Shaun fail. Look at the grape on his NOSE lol

How I described the scene there and then... "Little boy talking to naked boy" HAHAHAHHAAhehehehe

Sanuk soles. how cute and thoughtful

definitely one of the most peaceful times ever created! being away from Singapore really made me realize how everyone is in a rush to do everything or anything at all. it's tough to find a time to seek some inner peace, soak up some sun, lay in the grass without a care in the world. that's why i always say, the past few months were marked "the best time of my life". don't think anyone's ever gonna change that fact for me anytime soon!

amazing weather; fluffy white clouds, clear blue skies, low humidity..... if Singapore could so perfect, everyday will be a picnic day! :) anw, after all that stuffing, we still had dinner!!

oh pasta pasta~
fresh pasta was so easily available and affordable in Europe!!

and here's another meal on another day.. nothing extremely delish. just comforting enough to know that we won't starve despite being away from our favourite home, Singapore!

my deprived friends needed instant noodles hahahahha indomee!

alright! ending the first week of Europe, (FINALLY!!!!) with an extremely cute and handy coin pouch that my favourite intern friends got me :)

this was as far as how much we did in Lund before going around the continent like a fanatic, or in the words of another exchange student from icantrememberwhichcountry, "wow, you Singaporeans travel like you have no budget!"
(where got no budget...... thats why poor now right..............) LOL

what followed after our settlement in Lund could be summed up in a couple of words:
Breathtaking sights, great travels, delectable food and wonderful companionship.

Till then, Malmo, Amsterdam and Brussels await!! <3
and the Chinese New Year 2012 post rahahahahha <3
